from owen sound to trois-rivieres…

It sounded like we were dragging a chunk of Stonehenge behind us every time we hit the brakes. But that didn’t stop us from pulling into beautiful Owen Sound to play for the Otherfolk festival, which featured performances by bands like Elliott Brood and Bruce Peninsula. We were clearly outclassed, but the vibe was amazing and we watched Aaron Mangoff and The Morals play fantastic sets before we went to Rocky Raccoon’s to set up and play. The audience was amazing, giving a great singalong for “in your defense” and calling for an encore.

The next day we woke up early to fix that brake craziness so it didn’t sound like a slowly opening mausoleum every time we slowed down. Then we motored to Peterborough to play the first of several shows with our friends/arch-nemeses The Strumbellas. The Peterborough crowd rivaled Owen Sound for greatness, and The Strumbellas did not fail to throw down the plaid gauntlet!

Poutine was enjoyed in the post-show aftermath and we hit the hay knowing we’d have a solid drive to Trois-Rivieres, where we are soundchecking right now in a city that seems to be teeming with highly attractive French people.

Tonight the epicness continues!
